What to Include in Your Enquiry
You do not need every detail to make initial contact. Where possible, these six items help our engineers understand the job, identify missing information and prepare a useful quotation.
Drawings or Samples
PDF drawings, DXF, STEP files, sketches, photographs or a sample component. Include revision numbers where relevant.
Material & Thickness
Specify the grade and thickness if known, such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium or an engineering polymer.
Quantity & Repeat Demand
Tell us whether this is a one-off, prototype, production batch or a component you'll order regularly.
Tolerances & Finish
Include critical dimensions, fitment details, weld specifications, coating, polishing or surface finish requirements.
Deadline & Delivery
Give a required date and delivery location, or let us know whether you will collect from our workshop.

From Drawing to Finished Part
Wards Welding & Fabrications is a family-run engineering business based at Newfield Farm, Newport Pagnell, near Milton Keynes. We work with manufacturers, contractors and maintenance teams on one-off engineering problems, production components and multi-process assemblies.
A project might start as a laser-cut blank, need press brake folding and CNC machining, and finish with welding and assembly. Keeping several stages within the same workshop can simplify communication and reduce unnecessary supplier handovers.
For orders requiring material certificates, inspection records, specific welding approvals or customer documentation, tell us what you need before we quote so we can confirm the correct scope.
Before You Send an Enquiry
Which file formats can I use to request a manufacturing quote?
The upload form accepts common engineering and document formats, including PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP, STP, STL, 3MF and images. You can also send a compressed ZIP folder for a multi-file drawing pack. Include the drawing revision and quantity where available.
Can Wards quote without a complete CAD drawing?
Yes. Send photographs, a sketch, relevant dimensions or information about an existing part. We can review whether there is enough information to estimate the job or whether a drawing or site measurement is needed.
Can I request a quote for a large project or repeat production?
Yes. Wards can review larger welded fabrication projects and ongoing subcontract manufacturing, alongside one-offs and prototypes. Send the full scope, quantity, delivery schedule and any quality requirements so we can check whether the job matches our capacity.
Can I send confidential designs or ask for an NDA?
Yes. Email sales@wards-welding.com before submitting sensitive project details if you need a non-disclosure agreement agreed first.
Where is Wards based, and do you supply outside Milton Keynes?
Our workshop is at Newfield Farm, Chicheley Road, Newport Pagnell, MK16 9JD. We support Milton Keynes, Bedford, Northampton and surrounding areas, with suitable manufacturing and repeat-supply projects across the wider UK.
